The bottom one finally does it for me. I would actually hang it on my wall. It's great how you have persevered with this project and finally come up with somethilng great. Of course I can quite see that it is not to evrybody's taste and look forward to hearing from the other gals. I love all the finishing touches around the edges and the added silver hair. The roses are really pretty with those patterns on and the picture balances up nicely. And the bonus is that you suddenly look younger -a kid even!!!

The top one, although it is probly only a crop of the bottom one, shows up too many bits of dirt and scratches around the eyes. The eye itself does not look so sharp and contrasty as the bottom one although in reality I guess it is exactly the same, just doesn't blow up so well. Probably I would like it otherwise although maybe the crop would work better with the eye in the top third - I keep looking at the darker bit above it rather than the eye - but not sure. I think it all needs more contrast or deeper colours, or something.

Thanks! :-D

You're right, the top piece is just a crop from the bottom to show what I did in more detail. This is a photograph of a print and maybe I need to wipe off some dust.

The top one is just a detail and not intended to stand alone. Maybe I should switch the order of them. And it does look a little washed out on my screen too.

Yeah don't I wish I were a kid--or at least young-looking and vibrantly healthy! :-D

I actually did a little more to it. I've been painting over the print with acrylics. I think I'm going to call it done, probably, but now---what do I DO with it, LOL!

Sorry I didn't realise the crop was just to show detail. So the photograph of the print was of the patterns that you added after you added the checkerboard and that is where the dust came in. Did you scan it in or actually photograph it?

I printed the digital image and then I painted over it and then laid it on the driveway and photographed it with my little point 'n shoot because it was late in the day. (I'm always trying to do too many things at once).

My scanner doesn't reproduce color well. I have two scanners, I should try the other one.

I added the "checkerboard" (brick pattern) in Photoshop and then I printed it and painted it right in the print with real pain and ink.

paint.

Crikey quite a mix! Glad it wasn't pain. I'm always thinking I should go back to things but it's always nicer to get onto something new.
I really like the end result and I think your kids would appreciate a print.

I always like to get on to something new, too! Or every once in a while, discover soemthing old I really like.

Yeah, I may give the original --because it's only ONE, painted ON the photo, to my friend Pam and then maybe scan it and combine it with the digital version and print it for the kids. If i have time!
