I love the whiteness of north american silver birches. Ours always look dirty in comparison and some people wash them if they are in their gardens!! This is one picture taken moving the camera up on a slow speed blended with another one at normal speed. 23 April 2011.

WOW! This is absolutely gorgeous, Kate, it looks like a WINNER to me! WOW! I love it! Very subtle and pretty!
thank you very much. Yes I think I will enter it in a club competition next year. It prints up nicely on matt paper. I've just ordered a scoring board so that I can turn A4 card into A5 cards. Of course you are old fashioned in the states and use imperial sizes but A4 is similar to your 'letter' size.
I have an A4 Moleskine sketchbook, several of them. And also a much bigger one--is that an A3? I've been afraid to use it.
I really love this piece--it is truly lovely!
A3 is double A4. It is also the size that my printer prints out at for my competition prints.
That is a huge moleskin. I actually saw some moleskin sketchbooks at Chicago airport when we had several hours to hang about. If it had not been for you I would not have taken any notice of them but I had a good look.
Yes, it is huge!!!! That is why I have been afraid to use it. It was very expensive, also. So I want to not wreck it.WOW! I can't believe you have a printer that prints so big!! Do you also have a big scanner?
You must be getting very serious!
Well I've had the printer now for at least 3 years. Most club members print in that size. We have to fit them in a mat (we call them mounts) which is 50cm by 40cm so actually I do not like to print right to the edge of the A3. I think the whole thing looks better with a wider border on the mount. I have my own mount cutter too. But there again most members have them. It works very well and makes it simple to do even for thickies.
No I only have an A4 scanner but don't really use my scanner except for sort of office use. I guess it is different for a fine artist.
