This 18th century was along a main road in Charlettown. Apparently only Protestants, there was another cemetary in another area. It was well maintained, although it was pouring the day we visited.
It felt really old, I'll insert the sign re the history of the site in another post, interesting.

Did you get to wander around the gravestones Val? - maybe it was raining too hard, it can be so interesting reading the old inscriptions, often the ages of the dead can be so very young, or whole families, of course there are always the amusing messages too, I bet Moo can tell us a few - I sort of remember one (wellknown I think) - "As you are now so once was I, as I am now you will be", something like that :-)
acrtuall we could see a few were back to the very early 1899's but the engravings were so very faint.
