A most beautiful walk in Borrowdale. But hard as usual climbing out of the dale. Unfortunately on this day we missed the correct path to Grassmere and ended up in Thirlmere. Waited for a bus on the main road and then hitched a lift into Grasmere. You could say that was cheating but we had done the walk properly 16 years ago and we didn't want to walk along the main road with no footpath. Don't tell anyone! The last pic or rather the one with Geoff stooping and looking down at the beck was when we were in the wrong dale. It was extremely boggy and hard to find a path. We had quite a precarious crossing over the beck. Although thinking about it was actually worse than doing it. I did take a wrong step into the bog and ended up very muddy and wet.

I am having difficulty leaving any comments, things keep disappearing on me so if you received half written comments I apologize. Maybe I will just reply as an e-mail it would be much easier anyway somewhere I was saying how I agree with Mary and these images bring back happy memories of school day outings
