This section starts (hopefully anyway I never know which way around they will show on the blog) but it should start with the cottage called The Cloggers. After reading reviews of the B&B from other walkers the owners sounded quite a character and some people didn't like the fact that he got cross if they got back from the pub late. But being prepared for it and not likely to be thinking of getting back late anyway we found him very genial. It was a most beautiful day and a great walk. But by then we certainly realised how hard it was going to be. The last cottage is the farmhouse we stayed in at Stonethwaite.

Unfortunately the pictures do not come out in any particular order when you email them. They seem to be very haphazard. Which I always think is a shame. I do like to see pictures in the right order. Ah well never mind. It would take for ever to send them all separately.
At some point, if you wanted to take the time, you can click on edit html and rearrange them--do a few at a time--or NOT--we don't know the difference.
Well, except it's hard to tell which cottage is which.
The scenery is spectacular. Would it be possible to make this trip MORE SLOWLY and not cover as much ground each day>
Will have a go at switching. Guess I never did it in HTML before which bewilders me.
Yes, would love to do it more slowly. Say one days walk and one days rest. Some places you cannot walk less as there is nowhere to stay. Unless of course you carry camping equipment on your back. Trouble is it would cost you twice as much. Already we had planned to take 17 days. The B&Bs average out at £60 a night for a room. Plus of course eating out. So it would be pretty expensive to do it that way. A lot of people do it in stages though. Which is now what we will do if and when we go back to finish it. Will look out a link to a map.
Here is a link for a map

Sherpavan are the people we used. You can choose b&bs from their site and they will book for you. Then you can park at Richmond which is half way and they take you to the start St Bees. Then they pick up your bags each day from the lodgings and take to the next one. When you arrive your bags are there.
Never sure how you add your links in so easy. This one didn't work. But I have put the map link now on the right at the top of the blog.
